WAY Widowed and Young
WAY is a UK charity that offers a peer-to-peer support network for anyone who's lost a partner before their 51st birthday – married or not, with or without children, inclusive of sexual orientation, gender, race and religion. It is run by a network of volunteers who have been bereaved at a young age themselves, so they understand exactly what other members are going through. Support • Understanding • Friendship
You don't have to face widowhood alone – join over 4,500 other young widowed people across the UK who ‘get it’. Peer-to-peer support is the core of what WAY can provide, from picnics to meals out, our members are able to attend virtual and physical meet ups throughout the year. There are also trips away for adults and families. Our Members Hub is secure and offers a safe place for members to meet and support each other online. There is also a telephone or zoom confidential support line run by fully-trained counsellors, as well as legal support specialists.
Joining WAY takes just minutes and and is accessed by a minimum donation of £30 per year. We are aware that, as a result of bereavement and its consequences, many people can struggle financially so there may be an option to apply for funds to assist with the annual payment.
